About TechTerra Education
TechTerra Education (TTE) was born from a passion for bringing the power of STEM to every student.
Founded by Susan Wells, a public school educator with over 30 years of experience, TTE has been a pioneer in hands-on STEM learning since 2015.
Our Roots in Innovation
Susan’s journey began in 2007 when, as a middle school principal, she saw a need to better connect with Burmese refugee students. Securing state funding and working with Apple, she introduced iPod Touches into her classrooms, making her school the first in the US to do so. This sparked a passion for integrating technology into education, leading her to create one of the first makerspaces in a public school and offer free coding camps for ESL students.
In 2016, Susan partnered with Alison Stroh, who brought with her extensive experience in product development and startups, to form TechTerra Education. Together, they set out on a mission to provide “STEM Access for All” through engaging curriculum and sustainable products.
From Camps to Classrooms and Beyond
TTE initially focused on running STEM / STEAM camps across the US and providing global professional development. By 2019, the company had transitioned to creating and shipping STEM education products directly to customers.
Our flagship product, STEM in a Box®, was born, offering comprehensive, sustainable, hands-on STEM / STEAM programs for students and educators inside and outside the classroom.
Expanding Our Reach
Despite the challenges of the pandemic, TTE launched STEM in a Box® in 2022 and has since expanded to offer over 50 programs for students Pre-K through High School.
In 2024, we introduced Hiwayzz™, a flexible curriculum that allows educators to integrate core classroom instruction with STEM tools they already own or purchase bundled tools from TTE.
Our Commitment
We’re more than just a company at TechTerra Education; we’re a community of passionate individuals driven by a shared goal: to make STEM education accessible and engaging for all.
